EVNGENCO 3: What is solution for power generation in 2019?

35.748 billion kWh is the power output for generation plan of Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3) in 2019, increasing by 6.75% of power output compared to 2018. This is a challenging norm in the context of 2019 because EVNGENCO 3 does not have new power sources to be put into operation, unfavorable hydrological situation continues, gas fuel reduces and there are potential risks in coal supply sources, etc.

In order to prepare enough coal for power generation, in addition to domestic coal, EVNGENCO 3 will import about 600,000 tons of Sub-bituminous coal and 600,000 tons of Anthracite. The implementation of mixing coal burning for S2 generator unit - Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant is also an option to improve the efficiency in operation, improve the proactive supply of coal and particularly improve the quality of ash and slag to increase the consumption capacity, reduce the inventory amount at yards.

EVNGENCO 3 focuses on maintaining the reliable, stable operation of environmental treatment systems, equipment of environmental monitoring and supervision (gas emission, waste and cooling water), ensuring the management be close and smooth, organizing periodically  monitoring and reporting complying with regulations.

With new power source projects, the core construction investments of EVNGENCO 3 includes: Long Son Power Center Project, Ninh Phuoc 7 Solar Power Project.

In 2019, Power Generation Corporation 3 officially relocating its headquarters from Phu My Town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province to Sala Urban Area, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2018, EVNGENCO 3 generated 33.146 billion kWh (reaching 92.48% of the assigned plan by EVN), accounting for 15.57% of the total power output of the whole country's power system. In which, for 6 months of the dry season only, Vinh Tan thermal power plant of the Corporation contributed 4.099 billion kWh, exceeding by 3.17% of the planned output, making an important contribution to ensuring the energy security.

In 2019, EVNGENCO 3 completed the equitisation and successfully organized the first General Meeting of Shareholders on 17 September 2018; officially operated under the joint stock model from 1 October 2018.

The profit from power production in 2018 was VND 1,485.6 billion, exceeding by 15.42% compared to the plan. Profit from financial investment activities reached VND 355.8 billion, reaching 175.26% of the plan approved by the first General Meeting of Shareholders.
