EVNGENCO3 guarantees effective power production

On 11/10 in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of EVN’s Board of Directors and the delegation Worked with Power Generation Corporation No. 3 (EVNGENCO3) on production and business results, construction investment in the period of 2018-2022 and the first 9 months of 2023, as well as directions and tasks in the coming time.

According to the report, in the period of 2018 - 2022, EVNGENCO3 always ensures safe, reliable, and economical production, meeting the mobilization method of the national power system. The total power output for 5 years (2018 - 2022) is 162.86 billion kWh, the average production is 32.57 billion kWh/year, and the average contribution of 13.23% of the power output to the national power system.

In the first 9 months of 2023, EVNGENCO3 plants basically operate stably, meeting the mobilization of the power system. The power production of dependent accounting units is more than 20 billion kWh, reaching 92.8% of the target set forth by the General Meeting of Shareholders (reaching 99% of the EVN plan). EVNGENCO3 also achieved most of the economic and technical indicators according to the plan assigned by EVN, in which many targets have been improved very well such as the rate of self-use power, fuel consumption loss, and incident stoppage rate.

In the construction investment in the period of 2018 - 2022, EVNGENCO3 has made efforts to implement the project management, promote the construction of Vinh Tan 4 and Expanded Vinh Tan 4 thermal power plants to be completed and put into use 3 months ahead of the schedule; completed the progress of the Vinh Tan 2 solar power plant project (42.6MWP); Provided support to promote the completion of commercial generation of Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Plant in April 2021. In addition, the Corporation is also implementing the investment promotion of projects approved in Power Master Plan VII.

In recent years, EVNGENCO3 and units have always strictly complied with the provisions of the law on environmental protection. Thermal power plants have installed automatic, continuous environmental monitoring equipment and transmit data to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; installed the information board in front of the plant gate for people to conduct supervision. Plants have always maintained and increased green coverage towards a fresh, green - clean - beautiful environment.

EVNGENCO3 has also actively implemented social security, joining hands with the community with a total cost that has been performed for about VND 80 billion.

At the end of 2023 and in the coming time, the Corporation will continue synchronously implementing management and technical solutions to reduce incidents, restore capacity, improve reliability and safety in operation; continue implementing the program of reducing the loss of coal thermal power plants; diversifying and improving the quality of coal fuel sources for operation; promote the management and consumption of ash, especially at Vinh Tan Power Center.

EVNGENCO3 has also strived to shift energy into a clean energy direction, promote the investment in construction and development of repair services, focus on training human resources, strongly apply digital transformation, and promote restructuring.
