In particular, the work actively contributes to improving the urban beauty of the city, towards building the technical infrastructure of power grids and communication lines according to modern urban standards, building favorable environmental conditions. In order to attract investment in socio-economic development, EVNHCMC has actively and proactively coordinated with telecommunications infrastructure management units to implement the program.
After 10 years of implementing the program "Undergrounding the power grid in Ho Chi Minh City to improve the capacity, reliability and safety of power supply, combined with undergrounding the information cable system on power poles in the period 2011-2020", up to now, the program has basically completed the objectives and targets set out by the project. Specifically, EVNHCMC and telecommunications infrastructure management units have completed 240 grid undergrounding projects at 195 line routes. The undergrounding rate of the medium voltage grid has reached up to 45%, surpassing the set plan; basically completed the undergrounding of power grids and communication lines in the central area (the undergrounding rate of medium voltage grids in District 1 and District 3 reached 98%).
EVNHCMC has also completed the improvement and undergrounding of the power grids at the main routes of the road in the inner city, inter-district routes; completed undergrounding of the power grids at all named roads in the central area of District 1 and District 3. Power grids, communication lines in projects of road improvement, repair, and expansion are synchronously undergrounded.

Especially, during the implementation process, EVNHCMC has undergrounded the power grids in the direction of integration and compactness, creating favorable conditions for the implementation and improvement of the urban beauty, typically integrating the RMU cabinets into the single-body steel pillars, reducing the size of the low-voltage distribution cabinets. The power grid is increasingly standardized, structurally strengthened, with high operational redundancy and meeting N-1 standard, especially the power grids in some areas of the city center to meet N-2 standard.
The projects of undergrounding the power grid in combination with undergrounding information lines have been completed, bringing remarkable efficiency in improving urban beauty, the information cable system is undergrounded synchronously with the power one, which forms a technical infrastructure system of the power grid and communication cables according to modern urban standards.
Also at the ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Information Technology Company (under EVNHCMC) was honored to receive the Second-class Labour Medal for its outstanding achievements in performance from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
