Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the country Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh attached the Second-class Labour Medal to the Traditional Flag of Northern Power Corporation
At the Ceremony, under the authorization of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh awarded the Second-class Labour Medal to the Northern Power Corporation. This is the recognition of the Party and the State for the contributions of generations of officials and employees of EVNNPC in the past 50 years.
50 years of "lighting" the North
Speaking at the Ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung praised and congratulated EVNNPC for their important achievements in the past 50 years, in particular the efforts to bring electricity to rural and remote areas, contributing to fundamental changes in the socio-economic face of rural areas, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty alleviation, changing the lives of people.

Up to now, in the service area of the Corporation, 100% of districts, communes and 98.65% of households have access to the national power grid.
EVNNPC has been a pioneer in innovation, constantly investing in developing power grids, managing and operating 110kV grids, medium and low voltage grids of the largest scale among the five power distribution corporations. Of which, there are 254 110kV substations with a total capacity of 19,188MVA and 8,866km of 110kV power lines.

EVNNPC is the power corporation having the highest growth rate of power sales in EVN, with an average power sales growth rate of 12 - 14% per year.
The Corporation has actively applied advanced technologies to supply electricity with an increasingly stable and reliable quality; better meeting the electricity requirements of 10.2 million customers in the Northern provinces and cities.
Sustainable development
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung requested EVNNPC to closely follow orientations of National Power Development Master Plans (the revised 7th Master Plan, or the 8th Master Plan); regional master plans, provincial master plans to formulate medium and long term development plans.
Particularly, priority should be given to investments in rural power grids, with the goal of bringing electricity to all villages and hamlets by 2020 under the Prime Minister's Decision. EVNNPC should continue reviewing, rearranging and renovating its management and operation model.

EVNNPC should coordinate with provinces and electricity consumers in deploying demand side management solutions.
At the same time, the Corporation should well perform their social security missions in remote areas, together with the whole country contributing to improving the quality of people’s life.
