Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tung, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT said that, during the past time, EVNNPT has effectively put into practice many scientific research projects in management and operation such as: “Cleaning insulators on energized transmission grid with high - pressure water”; “Cleaning insulators on energized distribution grid with high - pressure water”; “Studying solutions for reducing failures caused by lightings on Thanh Thuy - Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant - Yen Bai - Thai Nguyen 220 kV transmission line”….
Along with applying outcomes of the research projects in management and production activities, EVNNPT has proposed application of many new scientific and technological studies in investment - construction, and operation management goings-on.
Many projects have brought about such great efficiencies as early detection of threats, mitigation of transmission line failures, improvement of transmission capacity, diminishing overhead cost in operation and management. They include applying technology of cleaning insulators on energized transmission grid with high - pressure water; installing equipment for online oil monitoring of 500 kV transformers and power resistors; adopting composite insulators, composite insulated bar / cross-arm; applying GIS substation technology; integrated substation control system; remote control center; unmanned substations, etc.
In particular, EVNNPT has developed projects on technology application for improving work productivity, optimizing transmission grid operation, including projects on developing smart grid for transmission network; constructing Remote Control Center and unmanned substations; compiling and issuing technical specifications for equipment to be installed on the transmission grid so that these specifications can be uniformly applied in equipment investment and operation management.
