EVNSPC must be well prepared for electricity supply scenarios when the COVID-19 pandemic is effectively controlled

That was one of the instructions of Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors at the Conference on reviewing the corporate performance in 2021 and deploying the tasks in 2022 of the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC). The Conference took place on the afternoon of 13 January 2022, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Taking the initiative to apply for scientific and technological advances

In 2021, the South was most suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Therefore, the performance of EVNSPC was largely affected. The Corporation has made every effort to overcome all difficulties to well realize the dual goal: both fighting the pandemic and securing a stable power supply for production and people's lives.

In particular, the Corporation secured power supply for 326 centralized isolation facilities; 416 medical facilities and hospitals treating COVID-19 patients and 1,204 pandemic control stations and checkpoints. The Corporation also implemented discounts on electricity bills with a total discount amount of VND 1,203 billion, sharing difficulties with customers.

Over the past year, EVNSPC has effectively applied solutions of online meetings, remote working, paperless office, digital signature, providing online services, electronic transactions, and multimedia customer care. This has helped the Corporation and its member units to operate effectively and maintain all activities amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Implementing the theme of 2021 "Digital transformation in the National Vietnam Electricity Group", EVNSPC has completed 100% of the workload in 2021 and achieved over 92% of the plan up to the end of 2022 assigned by EVN. Currently, the professional activities of the Corporation and its member units have been thoroughly performed on a unified mobile platform such as Digital Office, BI-EVNSPC; EVNSPC Home; Power quality check; Power grid check; Safety management; Application of Customer line to give prior notice of planned outages for maintenance, etc.

EVNSPC has also strongly applied information technology and established automation infrastructure in the operation and control of the power grid. 100% of 110kV substations of the Corporation have been operated under unmanned mode. 100% of the bidding packages have been procured under the form of public bidding, evaluation and scoring online. All 110kV power grid projects have applied advanced progress management software; supervising contractors, personnel, equipment in and out at the construction site through the smart camera system, etc.

The Corporation has synchronously applied digital technology to business activities and customer services with many convenience experiences to flexibly adapt to the pandemic context and new normal conditions.

Some outstanding achievements of EVNSPC in 2021:

- Power sales: 76.4 billion kWh

- Power loss rate: 3.87%

- SAIDI: 287 minutes

- Cost savings: more than VND 1,200 billion

- Payment to the state budget: about VND 1,200 billion

- Donation to the fight against the pandemic and frontline forces: VND 70.5 billion

- Building 245 houses of gratitude: more than VND 12.2 billion.
