Many customers in 21 southern provinces and cities have installed and registered with EVNSPC to sell rooftop solar energy
Particularly in the first 7 months of 2020, EVNSPC had paid VND 104.4 billion to its customers, equivalent to an output of 44.71 million kWh.
By the end of July 2020, 8,781 customers signed a record of installing two-way meters for rooftop solar power system, with a total installed capacity of 247.7MWp, reaching 71% of the plan assigned by the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) in 2020. Particularly in July 2020, EVNSPC and its units had signed records of installing 2-way meters for 2,246 customers, with a total installed capacity of 57.3MWp.
In the first seven months of 2020, the total output of rooftop solar energy back fed to the grid reached 155.84 million kWh.
According to experts, the southern provinces and cities have quite high average annual sunshine hours, about 2,000-2,600 hours/year, so the potential for developing rooftop solar power is high. Developing this type of energy both ensures power autonomy and contributes to reducing the burden on the national power grid.
- By the end of July 2020, 51 solar power plants were energized and put into operation in the South, with a total installed capacity of 156.1MWp.
- Over 1.93 billion kWh is the output contributed by the southern solar power plants in the first seven months of 2020, accounting for 4.35% of the total power output of the entire southern power system.
