EVNSPC secures power supply for socio-economic development in 21 Southern provinces and cities

On January 9, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) organized a conference to review corporate performance in 2023 and prepare to implement tasks in 2024. Leaders of Vietnam Electricity acknowledged the Corporation's efforts last year to secure power supply to serve socio-economic development in 21 Southern provinces and cities.

Regarding production and business performance results in 2023, according to EVNSPC’s General Director Nguyen Phuoc Duc, EVNSPC ensured power supply to serve socio-economic development, and political and cultural events in 21 Southern provinces and cities. The power sales in 2023 reached 85.1 billion kWh, an increase of 2.54% compared to 2022 and satisfying the target assigned by EVN. The realized power loss rate reached 3.76%, in line with the target assigned by EVN. The power supply reliability kept on improving.

Regarding customer service activities, IT application and digital transformation were further promoted to improve service quality and diversify electricity services. The rate of electricity service requests via Customer Care Centers, Public Administration, and Public Service Centers reached 100%.

In construction and investment activities, EVNSPC started the construction of 39 projects, energized 37 110-220kV power grid projects, and 709 medium and low voltage power grid projects, completing the plan assigned by EVN.

Electricity saving in 2023 reached 2,031 million kWh, equivalent to 2.38% of the total power sales. EVNSPC also coordinated well with local authorities and customers to implement the demand response program (DR) in 21 Southern provinces/cities. The Corporation signed DR agreements with 5,980 large electricity customers.
