Mr. Duong Quang Thanh said, with mechanisms to encourage the development of renewable energy, Vietnam has made a leap forward in this power source, especially from 2017 to now. Currently, new and renewable energy sources account for more than 25% of the total capacity of the entire national power system.

The increasing proportion of renewable energy sources will pose many challenges to Vietnam's power sector in terms of the stability of the power system, as well as challenges in mobilizing finance for investment and development of the power system, and so on.
In order to remove difficulties when transitioning to renewable energy, EVN will advise the Government on orientations and plans to ensure the goal of reducing emissions while still ensuring energy security.
Also at the meeting, EVN's Chairman further informed all the participants about EVN's digital transformation roadmap in all fields of operation, with the goal of basically successfully performing digital transformation by 2022 and becoming a digital enterprise by 2025. Therefore, EVN wishes to exchange and cooperate with Australian businesses that have strengths in science and technology development, digital technology, energy storage technology, and supply of LNG gas sources, and so on.
Ms. Robyn Mudie - Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, highly appreciated EVN's outstanding development over the years. The Ambassador affirmed that Australia, as well as Australian businesses, are ready to cooperate and support EVN. At the same time, the parties can effectively cooperate with each other in many fields, including the development of renewable energy to realize the target of low emissions.
