EVN’s Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh works with delegation of Mitsui Company (Japan)

On March 19, in Hanoi, EVN’s Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh received and worked with the delegation of Mitsui Company (Japan) led by Mr. Ryo Zushiden, Vice President of Division I (Asia), Department of Infrastructure Project Sales; Member of Hai Long Project Management Board as team leader.

Participating in the working group of Mitsui Group was Mr. Yusuke Nishibayashi - Director of Division 2, Division I (Asia), Infrastructure Project Sales Department; Mr. Ryuichi Maruyama - General Director of Infrastructure & Energy Department, Mitsui Vietnam; Ms. Ta Thi Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of Infrastructure & Energy Department, Mitsui Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Quynh Mai - Project Developer of Infrastructure & Energy Department, Mitsui Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ryo Zushiden said that on this business trip to Vietnam, Mitsui Group wished to learn and update information on the development orientation of offshore wind power in Vietnam, especially a number of offshore wind power projects that Vietnam Electricity has been assigned to pilot, and expressed the desire to seek for cooperation opportunities between Mitsui, EVN, and member units in the future; sharing the difficulties and challenges that the Vietnam Electricity sector is facing in the process of developing offshore wind power that Mitsui Group can support as a foreign investor.

EVN’s Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh welcomed Mitsui Group's policy and hoped that during this business trip to Vietnam, Mitsui Group would continue to research and discuss investment and cooperation opportunities in the energy sector in Vietnam. Vietnam in general and the offshore wind power sector in Vietnam in particular.

EVN leaders also informed about the electricity demand situation in Vietnam and some contents in Power Plan VIII that Mitsui Group is interested in. Accordingly, in Power Plan VIII for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the total capacity of offshore wind power sources is about 6,000MW and may increase in case of rapid technology development, electricity prices, and reasonable transmission fees.
