On 1st December 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security (Hanoi City), EVN and the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identification (under the National Population Data Center, the Police Department of the administrative management on social order, Ministry of Public Security) signed a cooperation agreement.
The cooperation agreement between EVN and the Center contains a number of key contents such as: electronic identification and authentication services; integrating the electronic authentication platform, exploiting population data into the applications of the Vietnam Electricity; certifying and providing information on the number of households at a permanent residence; collecting data and verifying citizen information; creating and managing information around digital identification for citizens; some other cooperation activities, and so on.

EVN’s Deputy General Director Vo Quang Lam said that the signing of this agreement has opened a new opportunity for EVN to continue promoting procedural reforms to provide electricity services on digital platforms. Thereby, bringing the best experience for power customers.
EVN is to closely coordinate with the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identification to connect and integrate the Group's customer management system with the population database. Right in December 2021, EVN can use population data and citizen identification to sign contracts for providing electricity services to people and businesses throughout the country.
Accordingly, power customers when carrying out electrical service procedures will be checked and automatically electronically authenticated on their residential documents such as people's identity cards, citizen identification cards, permanent residence, temporary residence registers, etc., according to the provisions of the Electricity Law, related Decrees of the Government. The authentication is performed completely online and offline connected to the population data and citizen identification of the Ministry of Public Security.
