In Quang Binh, thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by whirlwinds and strong winds, caused many power lines to fail, and trees outside the right of way fell onto the lines, resulting in widespread power outages to nearly 15,900 customers in Le Thuy, Bo Trach, Minh Hoa and Tuyen Hoa districts.
As soon as the incident happened, Quang Binh Power Company quickly switched power grids to restore the power supply to the local people. In some outstanding locations, power departments mobilized personnel to quickly check and fix failures to restore power supply to customers in the night.
By May 16, the electricity grid across the province had basically been restored, providing electricity to customers in the province in a safe and stable manner again.
In Quang Tri, heavy rains and thunderstorms caused incidents at many points on the low-voltage power grid, resulting in power outages to nearly 3,900 households in Gio Linh and Trieu Phong districts.
Quang Tri Power Company urgently changed the method of power supply, isolated the failure location, and mobilized vehicles, equipment and human resources to handle the failure. On the night of May 15, power supply for all affected customers in the area were restored.
