Energizing Bac Giang - Lang Son 220kV transmission line: Strengthening power supply for the North in hot season

At 3:36 am on July 2, 2023, the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with relevant units successfully energized Bac Giang - Lang Son 220kV transmission line project and the project of installing the second transformer at Lang Son 220kV substation, thereby strengthening the power supply for the Northern region from this year's hot season.

 Project’s completion is significant to ensure power supply for Northern region from this summer

The projects are owned by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), implemented by CPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company No.1.

The project of installing the second transformer (250MVA) at Lang Son 220kV substation is located at the existing Lang Son 220kV substation in Con Chu village, Phu Xa commune, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, thus increasing the capacity of the whole substation to 375MVA.

The Bac Giang - Lang Son 220kV transmission line project is 101.6km long from Bac Giang 220kV substation to Lang Son 220kV substation.

These projects are of great significance to help enhance the capacity of power supply for socio-economic development in Lang Son, Bac Giang, and surrounding areas. At the same time, it facilitates the safe and reliable operation of the 220kV and 110kV power grids in the area.

The completion of the projects is also an activity to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of EVNNPT (July 1, 2008 – July 1, 2023), the 35th anniversary of the establishment of CPMB (July 7, 1988 - July 7, 2023), at the same time to celebrate the success of the 4th EVNNPT Trade Union Congress, towards celebrating the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Congress in October 2023.
