Energizing Duyen Hai 220kV Substation and connection lines

On 31 October 2024, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) in coordination with relevant units energized the Duyen Hai 220kV Substation and connection lines (Tra Vinh province).

The Duyen Hai 220kV Substation was built in Duong Lieu Hamlet, Ngu Lac Commune, Duyen Hai District, Tra Vinh Province. The 220kV connection line section passes through Ngu Lac Commune. The location of the substation and the route of the connection lines were agreed upon by the People's Committee of Tra Vinh Province in Document No. 2640/UBND-CNXD dated 15 July 2019.

With a construction scale of two 220/110/22kV-250MVA transformers, in this phase, the substation is installed with a transformer with a capacity of 250MVA (AT1).

The scale of the 220kV side consists of 10 bays; this phase installs equipment for 6 bays; and reserves locations for 4 bays. The scale of the 110kV side consists of 16 bays; this phase installs equipment for 7 bays; and reserve locations for 9 bays. On the 22kV side, outdoor equipment is arranged by the power supply block diagram for self-use.

The 220kV connection line section is constructed 2 new double-circuit line sections to connect the Duyen Hai 220kV Substation to the 220kV line of the existing 500/220kV Duyen Hai-Mo Cay Substation with a total length of about 1.4km.

The project's energization is of great significance in meeting the economic and social development needs of Tra Vinh province and neighboring areas; reducing the load on 220/110kV transformers at the existing Tra Vinh 220kV substation and reducing the load on 110kV lines in the area. At the same time, it contributes to releasing the capacity of renewable energy power plants in the area.
