This was announced by PNE at the opening ceremony of the Group's representative office in Quy Nhon City on October 30. This is an important step forward for the pilot wind power project in the energy cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Germany.
PNE is Germany's leading wind power corporation with more than 30 years of experience, having developed renewable energy projects in 14 countries, 4 continents with more than 600 experienced employees, with a total investment budget for renewable energy projects of more than EUR 13 billion.
PNE has been studying and surveying to build a wind power project in Binh Dinh since 2019. Previously, at a meeting with the leadership of Binh Dinh province, PNE expressed its determination to pursue the project, with a proposed capacity of 2,000MW, divided into 3 phases, a total investment cost of about USD 4.6 billion (more than USD 1.5 billion for each phase). The Group emphasized that they are prepared to carry out the project as soon as the project’s investment policy is approved.
After being put into operation, the project will each year provide about 7.1 billion kWh of electricity to the national power system, contributing to ensuring national energy security and electricity supply to serve local and regional economic development.
