HAPUA 2019: A training course on "Analysis and inspection of incidents on transmission and distribution grids" was completed

30 members from ASEAN’s power utilities participated in a training course hosted by Vietnam Electricity/Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation. This is part of the cooperation program on human resource training of HAPUA (Heads of ASEAN Power Utilities/Authorities) in 2019.

Taking place from March 4 - 7, 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, under the guidance of experts from TNB (the electric power utility of Malaysia), trainees (including 20 people from EVN/EVNHCMC) had been trained to improve their ability to analyze and investigate causes of incidents on 110 – 220kV transmission grids and 22kV distribution grids; on how to identify root causes of these incidents in asset management, grid operation and grid inspection.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on March 7, 2019, Mr. Tran Khiem Tuan – EVNHCMC’s Deputy General Director highly valued outcomes of the training course, which thereby would contribute to enhancing the cooperation program between power utilities in ASEAN countries.

With the experiences being exchanged and discussed in the course, the trainees are expected to work out effective proposals for applying to their works, contributing to improving the grid reliability and customer satisfaction.

Previously, experts from the Malaysia Electric Power Utility (TNB) had paid a visit to Hai Ba Trung switching station managed by Saigon Power Company (under EVNHCMC). This is one of 8 switching stations, which plays a very important role in supplying electricity to the downtown area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City.
