As forecasted by the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, in the months of June and July, there may be more than 20 hot days, about 7-9 days more than the average in other years. The weather situation will be complicated, and prolonged heat waves are likely to occur, which may increase the demand for electricity use and lead to the city's electricity system overload.
In the peak of summer of 2021, the daily peak electricity consumption of the whole city reached 97.9 million kWh, putting great pressure on load control and maintaining uninterrupted electricity supply for daily life, working and production activities of the people of the capital.
Speaking at this ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, emphasized that it is extremely necessary for businesses, establishments and households to use electricity economically in the peak of summer. The leader of the City People's Committee called on offices, businesses, households, students, etc. to join hands in saving electricity and conserving energy.
Mr. Nguyen Danh Duyen - General Director of Hanoi Power Corporation added: In the context of domestic coal and gas sources being exhausted, increasing imported fuel prices and unpredictable weather conditions, etc., causing great difficulties and challenges to the power industry in general and EVNHANOI in particular in ensuring electricity supply, EVNHANOI wishes to receive cooperation and sharing of electricity customers to effectively implement power-saving programs, bringing about optimal efficiency for production, in line with actual consumption needs of every customer and alleviating pressure on the grid so that everyone enjoys sufficient electricity during the upcoming peak summer months.
