Ho Chi Minh City's daily electricity consumption reaches more than 93 million kWh

On 21 April 2023, Ho Chi Minh City set a "new record" in electricity consumption. According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation (EVNHCMC), the whole city's electricity consumption reached 93.53 million kWh, far exceeding the old milestone of 90.69 million kWh (14 May 2021). This puts a lot of pressure on the power supply.

The main reason is due to hot weather and hot air, so the demand for cooling equipment increases.

On 22 April 2023, electricity consumption still reached over 92.34 million kWh, only 1.27% lower than the previous day. This shows that electricity consumption in households is increasing very strongly.

Up to 22 April 2023, the average electricity consumption in April 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City reached 85.91 million kWh/day, while this figure for April 2019-2022 was below 80 million kWh/day.
