How to track the power consumption index?

In Ho Chi Minh city, electricity consumers can install the application of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) or visit the website of the Corporation or EVNHCMC page on Zalo, etc. to check their electricity consumption amount.

A representative of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) said that at any time, users can actively monitor their power consumption to come up with reasonable consumption plans, avoiding skyrocketing bills. Currently, the Corporation has been deploying many information channels, making it easy for users to look up, such as websites, electricity industry applications, Zalo, etc.

Calculating the power consumption of each home appliance

Users can estimate the amount of electricity consumed in daily life, easily calculate and manage the power consumption of electric appliances. From the estimated data provided by the tool, users can basically know how much their home appliances consume in a month (kWh). Thereby, they adjust habits and behaviors to use electricity efficiently and economically, especially when the weather is hot.

The use of the tool is very simple, whereby the user provides information about the quantity and types of their home appliances in use, including: basic appliances (electric stove, refrigerator, lights, etc.), energy intensive appliances (air conditioners, washing machines, clothes dryers, ovens, etc.). Along with that, the user provides data on the frequency, level, and habit of using these appliances.

Based on the provided data, the tool will automatically estimate the amount of electricity consumed by each electric appliance each month. This tool also shows the appliance that consumes the most electricity in the household during the month, helping the household to adjust their electricity consumption habit in a more efficient and economical manner.

Applications of the power industry, website

To check the electricity consumption of a family, electricity users of EVNHCMC can download the application "EVNHCMC CSKH" on the App Store and CH Play or via QR code.

Another channel is the website of EVNHCMC. On both the application and the website, users can actively, quickly and accurately look up information about electricity recording schedules, electricity consumption indicators, electricity bills, operating information, load curves, power outage plans, etc. Simultaneously, they can register for electricity services when in need.

EVNHCMC page on Zalo

The information page on Zalo is very user friendly when it is available on the device. To search, go to the Contacts tab and go to the Official Account section, search for EVNHCMC then press the Send message button.

Click the "Lookup" button and select the feature you want. The next step is to enter the customer code (form PExxxxxxxxx). Entering this code only needs to be done once, then it will be saved.

The EVNHCMC page on Zalo also shows details of the electricity recording schedule, electricity consumption index, electricity bills, etc. If you have any questions, you can also contact the power company and will receive a quick response.

Verifying power meters

The representative of EVNHCMC said that in case of doubting the power meter operating inaccurately, the electricity consumer may request the power company to re-check to ensure fairness in electricity trading.

The user can also request a verification from independent testing organizations including the Southern Electrical Testing Company, the Technical Center for Standards and Quality 3, the Technical Center for Standards and Quality in Ho Chi Minh City. These external organizations can coordinate with the power company to verify the accuracy of the power meter in use.

The representative of EVNHCMC recommended that in order to use electricity effectively, households should choose and use electric appliances labelled with energy-saving stars (the more stars, the more energy-saving). Also turning off electrical appliances when not in use, choosing LED lights instead of incandescent lights. Air conditioner is a device that "eats up" electricity in hot days, it is recommended to use an air conditioner with an inverter, setting the temperature at 25 - 26 degrees Celsius (daytime) and 27 - 28 degrees Celsius (nighttime) to get the best performance and reduce electricity cost.
