In 2021, EVNCPC will install 100% of electronic meters and telemetry

Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) is one of the leading units in Vietnam Electricity in developing electronic meters and electronic telemeters, bringing a great deal of  convenience to power customers in 13 provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highlands.

Data from electronic meters is automatically transmitted to the server, electricity workers do not need to record and enter data manually as before.

In 2020, EVNCPC has installed more than 4 million electronic meters on the grid, accounting for nearly 92% of the total number of meters. In which, there were more than 3.7 million electronic meters measured by RF Spider system (accounting for more than 84% of the total number of electronic meters). The data collection success rate is nearly at 99%.

This is a remarkable effort made by EVNCPC in modernizing the electricity index metering system, towards the development of smart grids. The development of electronic telemeters has brought significant efficiency to Vietnam Electricity in monitoring and management, ensuring accuracy in updating data, and limiting errors caused by recording and entering data by manual method.

Especially, from the development of the telemetry system, power customers of EVNCPC can monitor the actual meter readings used every day. Specifically, customers who have been installed electronic telemeters can access the customer care App of EVNCPC to monitor their power consumption index at any time. Thereby, making electricity bills transparent and helping customers use power efficiently and economically.

To achieve this result, EVNCPC has drastically replaced mechanical meters with electronic meters; assign concrete targets for installing electronic meters to member units in each year. Especially, EVNCPC has also mastered the technology of manufacturing electronic meters; developed RF-Spider telemetry system with product quality assessed and recognized through the National Quality Gold Awards in 2018, the Asia-Pacific International Quality Awards in 2019. 

In 2021, EVNCPC plans to complete the installation and replace 100% of electronic meters and telemeters to sell power to customers. The Corporation shall review, consolidate and implement with a proper roadmap for completion of the metering system; At the same time, effective application of telemetry data to serve analysis, evaluation and administration, and improve production and business efficiency.
