In the first week of March,  electricity price in Vietnam electricity market is stably high

During the first week of March 2017 (from February 27th until March 5th), the electricity price in Vietnam electricity market keeps stably high since more thermal power plants are mobilized for electricity supply.

Specifically, the average price at which power plants sell electricity to EVN at the time of transactions is VND 1,240 per kWh (excluding power loss of the power system); transmission expense based on power sales is VND 104 per kWh; distribution and retail expense based on power sales is VND 292.11 per kWh; overhead expense based on power sales is VND 7.32 per kWh.

Also during this week, the power sales decline by 0.35% against last week, amounting to 3.6 billion kWh; approximately 517.1 million kWh/day on average (nearly 18 million kWh/day higher than last week). The peak output is recorded on March 2nd, which is 528.27 million kWh/day.

Coal fired thermal power plants and gas turbines keep being highly mobilized by the system, whereas hydropower plants are mobilized in a modest manner in order to secure electricity supply in the dry season.
