Leadership skill training on digital transformation and innovation for female managers in EVN

Vietnam Electricity in coordination with the French Development Agency (AFD) organized the leadership training course on digital transformation and innovation for female managers. The course closed on the morning of 31 October 2024 in Hanoi.

The program was organized in both online and online formats.

Ms. Ana Vilar, Consultant of Application Européenne de Technologies et de Services (AETS) under the French Development Agency (AFD); Ms. Maryam Luzárraga, Lecturer, Expert on Innovation, Environment - Society and Governance (ESG), Enterprise Development and Digital Transformation, and representatives of AFD participated in the program.

In his closing speech at the training course, EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam emphasized that innovation and digital transformation are two parallel issues, and are a common global trend, among the important factors orienting the development of organizations and businesses. EVN is no exception to that trend. To respond to the process of innovation and digital transformation, the role of managers and leaders is extremely important, requiring quick adaptation and keeping up with the times.

"Although the course duration is only 2.5 days, the content of the program has been designed specifically by AETS and the lecturers for female managers of EVN, with the target of improving the effective leadership capacity of female managers in the context of innovation and digital transformation of enterprises. I believe that the knowledge and skills that you acquire through the course will help you perform your duties better, contributing to the sustainable development of EVN in particular and the Vietnamese Electricity industry in general" - EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam shared

On this occasion, EVN leaders also expressed their gratitude to AFD and AETS for supporting and coordinating the organization of a training program to improve capacity and leadership skills for female managers of EVN within the framework of AFD's Technical Support for EVN to implement the Gender Equality Plan for the period 2021-2025.

Sharing her feelings about the training course, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Chief Accountant of Hanoi Power Corporation, expressed her gratitude to lecturer Maryam Luzárraga for enthusiastically imparting basic knowledge to the trainees and expressed her gratitude to Ms. Ana Vilar from AETS for always monitoring and supporting the class. At the same time, she expressed her hope that Vietnam Electricity in coordination with AFD will continue to design appropriate and practical training content to improve the management capacity of female leaders of EVN in the coming time.

The leadership skill training program on digital transformation and innovation for female EVN managers occurred from 29-31 October 2024. Some training contents include knowledge and skills for female leaders; the role of leadership in the innovation process and creating a culture of innovation in the workplace; methods to promote and encourage innovation in work groups; important things when being a leader in digital transformation, etc.

In addition to theoretical lectures, trainees also participated in discussing and handling situations for female leaders in the process of business innovation as well as daily work culture-building activities.

Currently, EVN is one of the leading state-owned enterprises in gender equality and women's empowerment. In recent times, EVN has always strengthened gender awareness training, integrated gender into the EVN's production and business activities; and developed and implemented policies to support development opportunities for employees in general, female employees in particular, to build EVN with an equal, fair, diverse and inclusive working environment.
