Nearly 200 households in remote areas in Dien Bien province get access to the national grid before Lunar New Year 2020

Dien Bien Power Company (Dien Bien PC) energized two substations to supply power from the national grid to more than 200 households, mainly of Khang and H’Mong ethnic people, in Nam Nga 1, Nam Nga 2 villages in Nam Chua commune, Nam Po district, Dien Bien province.

This project is part of the Power Supply Program to rural, mountainous and island areas for the 2013-2020 period according to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 2081/QD-TTg.

The project consists of Nam Nga 1 35/0.4kV - 110kVA substation, Nam Nga 2 35/0.4kV - 31.5kVA, more than 7km of MV power lines, and nearly 10km of LV power lines delivering power to nearly 200 households.

Mr. Ly Van Than, Chief of Nam Nga 1 village, said that Nam Chua commune is nearly 150km away from Dien Bien Phu city center. Transportation conditions are very difficult, mainly by using mountainous roads. People were very excited when they heard that their villages would soon be electrified from the national grid. Many households have already bought TV sets, refrigerators, and coolers. The lunar new year 2020 was more joyful and more bustling.

With power from the national grid, living conditions in Nam Nga 1, Nam Nga 2 villages will improve, children will have better studying conditions, people can get access to information, expand their knowledge, and develop their economy.

Immediately after energizing the villages, Muong Cha Power Company (Dien Bien PC) sent its employees to each household to check their electrical systems and to guide people how to use their electric devices safely and economically.
