Outage Management System to implement from June 2019

Power Corporations are going to simultaneously deploy the Software of Outage Management System (OMS) since 1st June 2019. This application aims to gradually automate the monitoring work of power grid operation.

The OMS is developed by EVN to synthesize and collect outage data from relevant shared software systems. On that basis, OMS will accurately calculate technical indicators such as System average interruption duration index (SAIDI), System average interruption frequency index (SAIFI), Momentary average interruption frequency index (MAIFI).

OMS supports implementing reviews and reports; helping management levels at power corporations/companies and the Group to monitor the situation of power supply reliability so as to timely come up with solutions for uninterrupted and stable power supply to customers.

At the meeting on implementing reliability of power supply organized recently, Deputy General Director of EVN Vo Quang Lam emphasized that in 2019, the power corporation should focus on implementing management solutions and strengthening application of technology, realizing the goal of reducing SAIDI down to 400 minutes.

In 2012, SAIDI of the whole Group was 8,077 minutes, until 2018, this figure was only 724.48 minutes. Each year, SAIDI is reduced by 20 to 30% over the previous year.

In the first 4 months of 2019, SAIDI of the whole Group was 81.91 minutes, decreasing by over 66% over the same period in 2018. Typically, power supply of some power companies was only interrupted for less than 10 minutes such as: Ba Dinh Power Company (Hanoi Power Corporation) with 7.7 minutes, Gia Dinh Power Company (Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation) with 9.36 minutes, etc.

The Group has synchronously and drastically implemented solutions in both management and technique; invested to ensure compliance with the standard of n-1 for 110kV power grid, step by step has digitized the operation of power grid, built remote control centers and unmanned substations.

Particularly, EVN has strengthened applying science and technique, insulator sanitation technology, hotline repair, minimizing the time duration of power supply interruption for customers.

Improving the reliability of power supply is one of the key contents contributing to improve production - business efficiency, customer service quality, reputation and image of the Group.
