Accordingly, Da Nang PC has implemented the solution of using an Amorphous low-loss transformer, contributing to reducing the average outage time index of each customer (SAIDI) from 577 minutes to 153.9 minutes; the rate of power loss decreased from 3.22% (in 2016) to 2.35% (in 2020).
The use of low-loss transformers that do not contain PCBs (persistent organic substances) contributes to minimizing the risk of impacts on the environment and the community.
The amount of energy saved in the project life cycle is more than 95 million kWh, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 1,571 tons of CO2/year, saving more than VND 160 billion (within 18 years).
The initiative has replicated and applied more than 937 Amorphous transformers for major construction investment and repair projects in the city, contributing to ensuring operational safety and reliability on the power grid, protecting the environment, reducing greenhouse gases, and combating climate change.
