In 2022, the province's commercial electricity output reached 6.76 billion kWh, an increase of 3.4% over the same period, while in 2023, electricity output continued to reach more than 7 billion kWh, an increase of 5.1%. In 2024, commercial electricity output is estimated to reach 8 billion kWh, an increase of 12.68% over that of 2023.
The above figures clearly demonstrate that the demand for power consumption in the province is actually growing continuously and is forecast to increase further in the coming years when a number of large projects complete the investment and come into operation.
Resolutely discuss investment solutions for electricity infrastructure
Faced with the high demand for electricity consumption in the area, Thanh Hoa province has focused on directing local levels and sectors to strengthen coordination with Vietnam Electricity, Northern Power Corporation, and Thanh Hoa Power Company (Thanh Hoa PC) to discuss solutions to remove difficulties, ensuring the goal of timely response to businesses’ demand for power.

With the motto of dynamism, creativity, and sustainable development, Thanh Hoa PC has implemented the development directions and orientations of Vietnam Electricity and Northern Power Corporation, gradually modernizing the power grid to improve the reliability of power supply; building a professional business environment to improve the quality of business and customer service; promoting the application of information technology, digital transformation, etc., to improve efficiency in production and business; increasing investment in upgrading and expanding the power grid to ensure power supply, meeting the requirements of local socio-economic development.
In order to meet the needs of attracting local investment, in recent years, Thanh Hoa PC has regularly proactively worked and approached large customers and industrial customers to accurately assess the actual capacity needs, thereby helping the unit to be proactive in power supply in the area, responsible for closely following and strengthening coordination with contractors, urgently constructing and speeding up project progress such as Hoang Hoa 2 110kV Substation is expected to be completed and energized in October 2024 to ensure power supply for industrial clusters in Hoang Hoa, preparing to increase the capacity of T1 to 63MVA for Bim Son 110kV substation to ensure load capacity in Bim Son Industrial Park.
In addition, the 110kV stations of Thuong Xuan, Yen Dinh 3, and Thieu Hoa are also making urgent efforts to complete the steps to be able to be energized and put into operation in 2025, which will reduce the load on the 110kV stations of Yen Dinh, Tho Xuan, and Dong Son, helping to improve operating capacity and ensure power supply for the areas of Thieu Hoa, Yen Dinh, Tho Xuan, and Thuong Xuan. It is expected that in 2026 - 2027, the electricity industry will invest and put into operation the Tinh Gia 3 110kV substation. This will contribute significantly to improving the power supply capacity to serve the goal of attracting effective investment and economic development of the province.

Along with the technical tasks, operation, and investment in power grid infrastructure, with the motto "customers are the center of sustainable development", in recent times, Thanh Hoa PC has also constantly innovated, modernized the power grid, and digitized the service system to better meet customers' electricity needs.
Deploying construction of 110kV transmission line project from Bim Son - Nga Son 220kV substation (phase 2).
Every year, Thanh Hoa PC pays great attention to customer gratitude. Especially in early July 2024, the Company organized visits and presented certificates of merit to customers with outstanding achievements in electricity demand side management (DSM) in 2024 through these customers who signed and performed well in saving electricity, voluntary non-commercial electricity load adjustment (DR- Demand Response) and shifting electricity load, etc. This work has continued to contribute to demonstrating responsibility, a spirit of solidarity with the community, and building a strong relationship between customers and the electricity industry.
In addition, during the construction of the 500kV circuit-3 line project, a particularly meaningful and important project that helps improve transmission capacity, contributing to ensuring power supply for the North, especially during the peak of the summer heat, Thanh Hoa PC has performed a very good participation in the Voluntary Team as well as paying attention and creating the best conditions to help units from the Central and Southern Power Corporations support the project passing through Thanh Hoa to successfully complete the assigned task.
