Quang Binh provincial Party Committee Secretary Hoang Dang Quang affirmed that the investment in constructing Quang Trach Thermal Power Plants (belonging to Quang Trach Power Center) was an opportunity to promote the economic growth of a land with great difficulties like Quang Binh. Particularly, the Quang Binh Province Secretary hoped that the project implementation would put economic development and environmental protection in harmony.
Mr. Hoang Dang Quang - Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee making speech at the meeting on 15th October 2018
EVN Members’ Council Chairman Duong Quang Thanh affirmed that Quang Trach Thermal Power Project was invested and constructed by EVN with modern technology, high efficiency and especially the project met the requirements for environmental protection.
Experiences have shown in some localities that if the operation of coal-fired thermal power plants complies with environment protection regulations, it will not negatively affect the socio-economy, including tourism development in the locality. Typically, in Ha Long City (Quang Ninh Province), the tourism industry is still growing at high speed, although Quang Ninh Thermal Power Center is only 15km from Ha Long City.
Chairman of EVN Member Council Duong Quang Thanh speaking at the meeting
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Truong Duy Nghia - President of Viet Nam Thermal Science And Technology Association also presented the development of thermoelectric technology in the world. It can be seen that the coal-fired power is still a fundamental component in the power source structure of a developing country like Viet Nam, with a per capita power consumption of only half the average in the world.
