Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company releases carp fingerlings into Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir, 18 May 2022
This is also an opportunity for the company to propagate to people to further raise their awareness and responsibility in the aquatic resources regeneration and protection, limit negative activities to nature that changing the environment and affecting the ecosystem, especially the fishing with electric pulses and small mesh nets, making fishery resources increasingly decline.
Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company has well cooperated with the locality in the plant operation in general and social security work in particular. The fingerlings released into the lake bed will contribute to creating people’s livelihoods. Many households have risen out of poverty by exploiting fishing and aquaculture.
Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir is located in the territory of three provinces Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang and Bac Kan with a flood prevention capacity of 1 billion m3. With 3 units with a total installed capacity of 342MW, from its completion (in 2008) until now, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant has contributed more than 18 billion kWh to the national power system, successfully completing the water regulation work for the winter-spring crop with more than 14 billion m3 of water.
