Dong Nai Hydropower Company releases 100,000 fingerlings into the reservoirs
100,000 fingerlings including carps, barbs, grass carps, catfish and tilapias, which are highly adaptable fish that can thrive in the natural environment, were released in Dong Nai 3 and Dong Nai 4 reservoir to restore native and develop commercial fish species.
Deputy Director of Dong NaiHydropower Company Nguyen Quang Vinh said: This is an activity that Dong Nai Hydropower Company have organized in many years, demonstrating its responsibility to the community, contributing to biodiversity, sustainable development of natural aquatic resources in reservoir areas, contributing to creating livelihood and raising income for local people.
At least a ton of fingerlings have been released each time. This is also an opportunity for Dong Nai Hydropower Company to propagate to people living on the reservoirs to raise awareness in protection and development of natural aquatic resources; in protecting water environment in Dong Nai 3 and Dong Nai 4 hydropower reservoirs.
