According to Mr. Vu Anh Phuong - Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), up to this moment, EVNNPC has secured the power supply from at least two grid power sources and backup generators for 60 locations of practice, competition and accomodation (hotels) in 11 Northern provinces where the 31st SEA Games will take place.
The Corporation has made a list of on-duty personnel during SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11 including the Corporation's leaders and directors of many functional departments.
Along with that, power companies such as Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc have arranged their on-duty workforce 24/24h, well-prepared standby equipment, supplies, fuel, communication systems and means of transport so as to timely handle any incidents when they occur.

According to the power supply security plan, all critical locations are supplied with 2 main grid power sources and backup generators. EVNNPC will not cut off or reduce power supply from high, medium and low voltage grids from 5 May to 23 May 2022. In case of force majeure events, the fastest remedial solution will be ready with available backup power sources.
To prepare for the biggest sports festival in Southeast Asia, Hai Duong One Member Company Limited (under EVNNPC) has developed a specific plan for a flexible and safe power supply. The company has installed and operated a hot backup generator with a capacity of 250kVA located at the gymnasium in Hai Duong province.
In case the equipment is damaged or in danger, it will be replaced and repaired immediately so that there will not be any subjective incidents on local power grids directly supplying electricity for SEA Game 31. Plans with different incident scenarios and practical drills have been performed to ensure a smooth power supply for SEA Games 31.

At the same time, the Company has allocated an onsite task force to operate and handle incidents at substation areas and at power supply areas for the gymnasium, ready to coordinate with relevant organizations during times of matches to have a plan of power supply restoration in the shortest time if there is a power outage.
In Phu Tho where men's football matches of Group A take place, Phu Tho Power Company has established a Sea Games 31 Power Supply Steering Committee and developed an overall power supply plan, coordinated with the Department of Culture - Physical Education - Sports of Phu Tho province to install 03 backup generators to supply power for 04 light poles in the football field, electronic boards, lighting function rooms in the audience areas A, B, Led screens, color TV cars, etc., arranged on-duty personnel at locations related to the organization of Sea Games 31.
At the locations of training grounds for football teams (Tam Nong Stadium, Bai Bang Stadium), Phu Tho Power Company has directed Tam Nong, Phu Ninh Power Departments to work with the Organizing Committee on capacity demand, arranging backup generators to ensure power supply reliability.
In Quang Ninh, a Northern province having up to 15 locations occupied for organizing SEA Game 31, including gymnasiums, stadiums, exhibitions and fair palaces and more than a dozen hotels to be used as accommodations for athletes, organizers of competition sports, etc., Quang Ninh Power Company (Quang Ninh PC) has prepared two main grid power sources and backup generators, on-duty workforces, backup supplies and equipment, etc. to be ready to ensure safe and stable power supply.
In particular, in areas having competition locations (Ha Long, Uong Bi, Cam Pha), local power departments have carried out a general technical and safety inspection; checked the load-carrying status of power lines and equipment on power lines, substations; working with customers to inspect power lines and equipment managed by customers to ensure safe operation.
