Power Project Management Board No.2 and units performing the energizing work of project of Bo Y 220kV switching station and connection 220kV power lines
The work was started in April 2022 with a new construction scale of Bo Y 220kV switching station, including ten 220kV bays, in this phase, six bays will be installed; construction of a 6.03km-long 2-circuit 220kV line connecting from the Bo Y 220kV switching station to the 220kV power line connecting the Nam Kong 2, 3 220kV substations (Laos); construction of a 4-circuit 220kV line with 0.8km length connecting from the Bo Y 220kV switching station to the Xekaman 1 (Laos) - Pleiku 2 220kV transmission line.
Bo Y 220kV switching station
When the Nam Kong 2 and 3 hydropower plant projects in Laos complete the procedures according to regulations, the Bo Y switching station will receive electricity from these plants (expected before 15 May 2023) to be integrated into Vietnam’s power system.
The project of Bo Y 220kV switching station and connection 220kV power lines contribute to the implementation of bilateral commitments on cooperation relations between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos in the field of energy development; at the same time strengthen the capacity of Vietnam's power system, especially in the hot season.
