Thac Mo hydropower expansion plant synchronized into the national power grid

At 12h20 on 11July 2017,  Thac Mo hydropower expansion plant was officially and successfully synchronized into the national power grid. With the capacity of 75MW (1 unit), the plant will contribute to the power system approximately 52 million kWh annually.

Owned and invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the project started on 1 July 2014 in Bu Gia Map and Phuoc Long districts, Binh Phuoc province. The total investment amounted to VND1.558 billion, of which 85% is from the ODA loans funded by the Government of Japan, 15% is from the counterpart fund.

With the direction from the investors and great effort in the working process, as well as the responsibilities from the consultants and contractors, the project was completed on schedule. Once finished, the project has contributed to raising the capacity of Thac Mo hydropower plant up to 225MW.
