The 3rd week of June 2018: Electricity market price continued to maintain at a high level

From June 18 to 24, 2018, the electricity market price kept on rising in comparison with the 2nd week of June 2018. In details, the average electricity selling price of power plants at trading points was VND 1,201 per kWh (not including power system losses), while this price in the 2nd week of June 2018 was VND 1,180 per kWh

Power transmission charge was VND 104 per kWh; Distribution charge and retail cost by power sales was VND 292.11 per kWh; overhead and auxiliary cost by power sales was VND 7.32 per kWh.

During the 3rd week of June 2018, the power system maintained to operate stably despite intense heat waves occurring on a large scale, which led to a significant increase of electricity consumption. In particular, the electricity output of the whole system reached 4.67 billion kWh, equivalent to an average of 667.4 million kWh per day.

On June 22, 2018, the peak capacity of the system reached 34,138 MW, increasing nearly 3,300 MW against the peak capacity of 2017 - equivalent to the total capacity of two large hydropower plants Son La and Lai Chau.
