These two projects are energy projects of special class, group A, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation under Vietnam Electricity, to be implemented from 2017 to 2019. The projects aim to boost the transmission capacity of 500kV power grids interconnecting the regions of the national power system, contributing to the electricity supply to the South in the coming period.
Quang Trach - Doc Soi 500kV transmission line project will go through five provinces and one city (Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang city, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai) with the preliminary cost estimation of VND 6,758 billion.
Doc Soi - Pleiku 2 500kV transmission line will go through three provinces (Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Gia Lai) with the preliminary cost estimation of VND 3,606 billion.
The Prime Minister has approved a number of special mechanisms to accelerate the implementation of these two projects, in which EVN is authorized to appraise and approve feasibility studies of the projects in accordance with legal regulations. EVNNPT is empowered to implement a part of site investigations and technical design development in advance, in parallel with the process of appraising and approving the investment projects, provided that the works performed beforehand must be suitable with the construction sites of the projects which have been agreed in writing by the People's Committees of the provinces where the projects are located.
In addition, these two projects shall be subject to specific mechanisms and policies for urgent power projects in the national power development master plan approved and promulgated by the competent authorities.
