The first week of August: Electricity market price remains at a high level

In the first week of August, 2017 (from July 31 to August 6), electricity market price steadfastly remained  at a high level, due to a high supply from thermal power plants had been sustained to secure the safe operation of the power system.

In details, the average price of electricity purchased from power plants at a transaction time was VND 1,280 per kWh (excluding losses of the power system).

The transmission charge calculated on the power sales was VND 104 / kWh; the distribution and retail charge calculated on the power sales was VND 292.11 / kWh; the overhead cost and auxiliary cost calculated on the power sales was VND 7.32 / kWh.

During the first week of August, 2017, the total generation output of the power system reached 4.05 billion kWh, dropped by 0.72% over the fourth week of July 2017, due to heavy rains in the North and the South.

The power system operated stably and no power interruption occurred due to a lack of supplies. During some days, oil fired generators were dispatched to meet the peak load in the South.
