Attending the workshop were Mr. Pham Hong Phuong – Vice President of EVN and Mr. Herve Conan - Director of AFD.
The workshop is within the framework of a Technical Support on Health, Safety, Environment management and operation and maintenance optimization for hydropower plants, funded by a grant of the European Union (EU), managed and implemented by AFD as authorized by EU. This grant is associated with the AFD's non-sovereign loan for Ialy Hydropower Plant Extension project.
The scope of the technical support includes: assisting EVN in building a management system of health, safety and environmental aspects for hydropower plant projects in construction and hydropower plants in operation; supporting EVN to optimize the operation and maintenance of hydropower plants; recruiting an international panel of experts to supervise the implementation of HSE management at Ialy Hydropower Plant Extension project.
At the workshop, the AFD's consultant presented a set of international standards on health, safety, and environmental management systems for hydropower plant projects.
EVN’s subsidiaries discussed enthusiastically how to apply international standards and global experiences to hydropower plants and projects in Vietnam.
