From high mountains to remote sea and islands

Overcoming a great deal of difficulties and challenges, over the past years, EVN has completed projects to supply power from the national grid to rural, mountainous, marine and island areas.

On daily average, there is one more commune supplied power in the country. This is the result gained from implementing the Vietnam Rural Electrification Program for the period of 1998-2007.

During this period, the most remarkable gain was the Vietnam Rural Energy Project I with total investment of over VND 3,294 billion, supplying power to 976 communes nationwide.

With power supplied, the headquarters of People’s Committee in mountainous communes have been equipped with computer systems, properly serving public administration activities.

Up to now, 100% of communes, more than 99% of rural households have been supplied power.

The project of “Supplying power to off-grid villages in 5 provinces of Central Highlands” upon completion has lighten up 1,331 hamlets, villages and more than 116,000 households.

In the Southern region, many projects have been implemented. The typical one is the project of power supply for 91,000 households, mainly Khmer people, which have not accessed to electricity.

EVN has mobilized investment capital sources to supply power to island districts and communes.

Since August 2017, EVN has taken over and managed the power system in Truong Sa (Spratly) islands. So far, EVN has managed and supplied power to 11/12 island districts across the country, significantly contributing to promoting the marine and island economy, protecting the national sovereignty.
