Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant Project: EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong inspects construction status

On the morning of 1 October 2025, in Bac Ai Tay commune, Khanh Hoa province, Vice President of EVN Pham Hong Phuong led a delegation of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to inspect the construction status of the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant.

EVNPMB3 is focusing on many solutions to remove difficulties and speed up progress of main items of Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant. By the end of September 2025, many key tasks had been deployed, contributing to assurance of fourth-quarter construction plan and next milestones of project.

For 500kV Distribution Station category, contractor is currently undertaking rock filling and leveling work at station, aiming to reach volume of 77,600m³ by the end of fourth quarter of 2025.

As of now, construction, operation, and ventilation tunnel having excavated and reinforced for 166.5 out of 180 meters, reaching 92% of quarterly plan.

Construction units having also excavated and reinforced 394 out of 270 meters of power cable–ventilation tunnel, exceeding third-quarter plan by 46%.

For VH3A tunnel section, Power Project Management Board No. 3 requests contractor to mobilize additional manpower and equipment, implement continuous three-shift operations, and accelerate excavation and reinforcement works to compensate for schedule delays and meet established construction targets.
