Ca Mau strives to export 5,000MW of electricity from renewable energy by 2040

​​​​​​​Ca Mau province is striving to export 5,000MW of electricity from renewable energy by 2040.

On December 17, according to information from the Office of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, the province planned to implement the national energy master plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 in the province.

Accordingly, Ca Mau province has determined to prioritize the unlimited development of power sources from renewable energy for export on the basis of ensuring energy security and bringing high economic efficiency.

Notably, the province strives to export 2,000MW of electricity from renewable energy by 2031, 3,000MW by 2035, and 5,000MW by 2040; to build Ca Mau province into a renewable energy center of the Mekong Delta region, a renewable energy export center of the whole country.

In addition, Ca Mau province also develops renewable energy sources that are not connected to the grid to produce hydrogen and ammonia for domestic use and export targets.

Striving to exploit the renewable energy potential in Dam Doi and Ngoc Hien districts, which have been identified in the provincial planning, to produce hydrogen, with a total capacity of about 86,248 tons/year.

Ca Mau province is determined to become the renewable energy center of the Mekong Delta region and the renewable energy export center of the whole country.
