This event marks the completion of the entire Vinh Yen 500kV Substation Project and its connecting transmission lines, bringing the facility into synchronized and safe operation, ready to ensure power supply for Northern Vietnam ahead of this year’s hot season.

The Vinh Yen 500kV Substation is located in Binh Tuyen Commune, Phu Tho Province. The four connecting 500kV transmission line circuits also pass through Binh Tuyen Commune, ensuring flexible connection with the existing power grid system.

Specifically, connection section No. 1: newly constructs a 500kV transmission line with 2 circuits from the 500kV gantry of the Vinh Yen 500kV Substation, connecting to the existing Son La – Hiep Hoa 500kV line and Viet Tri – Hiep Hoa 500kV line, with a length of approximately 2.1km.

Connection section No. 2: newly constructs a 500kV transmission line with 2 circuits from the substation gantry to position DN2 (G2.5) along the route of the Son La – Hiep Hoa and Viet Tri – Hiep Hoa 500kV lines, with a length of approximately 2.6km.

After completion, the four 500kV transmission line circuits connected from the Vinh Yen 500kV Substation play an important role in enhancing power transmission capacity in Northern Vietnam, contributing to ensuring safe and continuous power supply. This also strengthens system interconnection and improves supply reliability for Phu Tho Province, meeting the socio-economic development needs of the Northern region.

The successful energization and completion of the entire project not only demonstrate the efforts of EVNNPT and participating units but also affirm the determination to accelerate the progress of key grid projects, serving national energy security in 2026 and the coming period.

This is a special-grade, Group B energy project, with EVNNPT as the investor, NPMB acting on behalf of the investor to manage and operate the project, and Power Transmission Company No. 1 responsible for operation upon completion.
