On October 21, Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), inspected the progress of the Yen Dung 220kV Substation and Connecting Transmission Lines Project in Bac Ninh City. The project is being invested in by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
The delegation included Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, as well as representatives of EVNNPT's Construction Investment Management Board and the Northern Power Projects Management Board (NPMB).
The Yen Dung 220kV Substation and Connecting Transmission Lines Project is located in Canh Thuy Ward, Bac Ninh City. The substation is designed to accommodate two 220kV transformers, each with a capacity of 250MVA. The approximately 0.11km-long double-circuit 220kV transmission line will connect to the existing Pha Lai - Quang Chau transmission line. A roughly 1km-long 35kV transmission line will supply auxiliary power to the substation.
To date, the site clearance and handover for the substation and 220kV connecting transmission lines have been completed. Major construction items, including site leveling, the control building, the pumping station building, pole foundations, steel beam and column structures, and the perimeter fence, have been substantially completed. The main outdoor cable trenches are approximately 80% complete, while work on branch cable trenches is being accelerated for completion within October.

Regarding equipment foundations, 99 out of 183 foundations on the 220kV side have been completed, allowing the installation of equipment support structures to proceed. On the 110kV side, concrete pouring for the foundation bases has been completed for 89 out of 105 foundations.
According to the schedule, primary equipment for the 220kV and 110kV systems, along with the 220kV-250MVA transformers, will be delivered to the construction site from late October for installation, testing and calibration.
