Contract signing ceremony for EPC package of project to supply power from national grid to Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province

On December 12, 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the Joint Venture of PC1 Group Joint Stock Company - Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company No. 4 (Joint Venture PC1 - PECC4) held the Contract Signing Ceremony for Package HH01-DZCĐ: Design, procurement of equipment and construction of submarine cable section (EPC) under the Project of supplying power from the national grid to Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

The Contract Signing Ceremony was attended by Comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC), representatives of the Government Office, the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade, leaders of Vietnam Electricity, leaders of Power Project Management Board No. 3 (EVNPMB3) and the EPC Contractor Consortium.

The Project of Supplying Power from the National Grid to Con Dao District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province (Project) has a total investment of VND 4,923,514 billion, with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the Investor; Power Project Management Board No. 3 (EVNPMB3) is assigned as the Investor's representative. After signing the EPC contract and implementing the construction, it is expected that in the fourth Quarter of 2025, power will be supplied to Con Dao District from the national grid, and the entire project is expected to be completed in 2026. The investment capital for the project is arranged from the State budget and EVN's counterpart capital.

The EPC package is the main one of the Project with the scope of work including design, equipment supply, and construction of a 110kV submarine cable line with a length of about 77.7km from the transition point at sea in Soc Trang to the landing point in Con Dao. In order to promote the internal strength of domestic enterprises, this package was organized to select contractors in the form of open domestic bidding. After organizing the selection of contractors, the contractor meeting the capacity and experience was selected to win the bid, which was the Joint Venture of PC1 Group Joint Stock Company - Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company No. 4 (Joint Venture PC1 - PECC4).

This is one of EVN's key projects to be implemented in 2025. Vietnam Electricity assigned the Power Project Management Board No. 3 and the EPC Contractor to manage the project, organize construction to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements, and focus resources and equipment to accelerate progress and complete the project according to the set plan.

Acceptance of completing and energizing the project: Quarter IV/2025

Expected completion of the entire project: 2026.
