Over more than 55 years of construction and development, Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation has established itself as a Heroic Labor Unit, constantly striving to reach new heights in electrical equipment manufacturing.

EEMC is one of leading enterprises in Vietnam and region in ultra-high-voltage transformer manufacturing.

A significant milestone for EEMC was achieved in 2010, when the company successfully manufactured a 500kV–150MVA single-phase transformer assembly. This achievement made Vietnam the first country in Southeast Asia at that time and one of the few countries in the world capable of manufacturing 500kV ultra-high-voltage transformers.

First domestically manufactured 500kV–900MVA three-phase transformer successfully energized at Hoa Binh 500kV Substation in December 2025.

Building on that foundation, EEMC was further entrusted by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) with the task of designing and manufacturing a 500kV–467MVA three-phase transformer for the Son La Hydropower Plant - the largest hydropower project in Southeast Asia. The product was commissioned in 2021, contributing to the stable operation of key hydropower units within the national power system.

In 2024, EEMC continued to demonstrate its capabilities by successfully designing and manufacturing a 500kV-900MVA 3-phase transformer – the largest capacity equipment on Vietnam's transmission grid today. This event not only affirms the capabilities of domestic enterprises but also shows a significant step forward for Vietnam's electrical equipment manufacturing industry.

Not stopping at the domestic market, EEMC is also gradually expanding into the international market. In 2025, a 70MVA–132/33kV transformer designed and manufactured by the Corporation was successfully exported and put into operation at the Clements Gap BESS solar energy project in South Australia. In parallel, EEMC continues to expand its international partnerships and enter into cooperation agreements to develop markets in Australia, the United States, the Philippines, and other countries.

Currently, approximately 80% of 220kV transformers and 50% of 110kV transformers operating on Vietnam’s power grid are designed and manufactured by EEMC. As of March 2026, EEMC has produced over 1,500 transformers with voltage levels ranging from 110kV to 500kV, along with tens of thousands of distribution transformers up to 35kV, currently in operation across all provinces and cities nationwide.

EEMC has consistently maintained high revenue levels for many consecutive years. In particular, 2025 marks comprehensive growth, surpassing targets across all revenue and profit indicators, with consolidated revenue reaching over VND 2,900 billion, the highest in the Corporation's history.

Foundation for Steady Progress

In parallel with human resource development, EEMC has also invested heavily in modern, highly automated production lines to enhance production capacity. The system of factories, technological lines, and modern high-voltage laboratories has been developed and continuously upgraded over multiple phases, creating a solid foundation for manufacturing high-capacity electrical equipment that meets increasingly stringent technical requirements. Currently, EEMC’s 1,600m² 500kV laboratory is the only testing facility in Vietnam that fully meets the requirements for factory testing of transformers up to 500kV in accordance with IEC standards.

Furthermore, the adoption of advanced design and engineering simulation software, the application of new materials, and the implementation of a quality management system in line with international standards have enabled EEMC to continuously enhance product quality and competitiveness in the market.

Building on its achievements, EEMC is actively advancing the research and development of new product lines, including 500kV reactors, current and voltage transformers, GIS substations, and electrical engineering services serving the power sector and other areas of the economy.

Contributing to target of double-digit economic growth

Vietnam aims to maintain double-digit economic growth in the coming years, leading to a projected continued increase in electricity demand of 10-12% per year. This also places an increasing demand on proactively securing the domestic supply of electrical equipment, especially high-capacity transmission and transformer equipment.

In this context, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has developed strategic directions to promote EEMC's deeper participation in the power industry's equipment supply chain. EEMC's technological advancements demonstrate the effectiveness of the policy of developing key domestic mechanical products, serving the target of ensuring energy security and sustainable economic development.

The 55-year journey of construction and development serves as a strong foundation for Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation to sustain its steady and long-term growth in the years to come. Products bearing the EEMC brand are not only the crystallization of the intellect and dedication of generations of managers, engineers, and workers, but also vivid evidence of the growth and maturity of Vietnam’s electrical equipment manufacturing industry.

Mr. Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN:

“Viet Nam Electricity (EVN) has oriented the production of electrical equipment as one of its three pillars. Therefore, EEMC needs to continue researching and aiming to manufacture key equipment for the power system, expanding its product portfolio, and shortening the development cycle of new products to meet the needs of the domestic market, while simultaneously promoting marketing and export to international markets, based on the principle that the products produced must meet international standards and be highly competitive.

EVN and its shareholders will support Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation to continue promoting innovation in labor, developing strongly in the new era of the country, and becoming a leading electrical equipment manufacturer in the region.”

Some notable achievements of EEMC:

• Hero of Labor title (2011)

• First-class Labor Medal (2009)

• Third-class Independence Medal (2014)

• Government Emulation Flag (2010, 2021)

• Numerous Certificates of Merit and Emulation Flags from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVN, and central and local agencies.
