At the ceremony, EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh expressed the honor and pride of EVN and EVNNPT in having the project officially inaugurated under the approval of the Prime Minister, as part of the celebrations marking Vietnam’s 80th National Day anniversary.
Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh emphasized that the Government has set an economic growth target of over 8% for 2025, and aims for double-digit growth during the 2026-2030 period, which requires electricity demand to grow at 12-16% annually, equivalent to an additional 8,000 to 16,000MW per year. Therefore, alongside investing in urgent power generation projects to meet socio-economic development needs, it is crucial to invest in transmission grid infrastructure to strengthen regional connectivity and ensure the safe and stable operation of the national power system. The Vinh Yen 500kV Substation and its connecting transmission line play a key role in realizing these goals, contributing to securing the power supply for socio-economic development in Northern provinces, including the Hanoi capital.
