Accordingly, MOU is built on the principle of voluntariness and equality between EVN and the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology, and Climate Change in the coordination and cooperation between the two parties in providing products and services related to historical data and forecasting of renewable energy and new energy, as well as research transfer and training to serve the development of renewable energy and new energy in Vietnam.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment expects that strengthening cooperation between the Electricity sector and the Hydrometeorology sector will help ensure the accuracy and timeliness of forecasts on renewable energy sources, thereby supporting EVN in operating, allocating, and developing power sources effectively, stably, and sustainably. On the other hand, integrating hydrometeorological data into the operation and planning of renewable energy will help optimize resources, minimize risks, and improve exploitation efficiency, contributing significantly to the country's green energy transition.

EVN’s leaders affirmed that the cooperation with IMH through MOU for the period 2025-2030 is an important turning point. This MOU helps EVN access accurate forecast data on solar radiation, wind, and meteorological factors, thereby supporting the calculation of generation output in forecasts as well as in payments for self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power. In addition, IMH will support training, research, and technology development, helping EVN successfully implement the transition to energy as required by the Government.
EVN’s leaders also said that the MOU between EVN and IMH signed by the two sides today opens up new opportunities to best exploit the potential and promote the advantages of each side for mutual development, gradually realizing the goal of emission reduction, contributing to building a green economy and sustainable development.
