According to EVN, a new scam involving fake OTP messages has recently emerged. Some electricity customers reported receiving text messages from a sender identified as "EVN CSKH". The messages contained a fake six-digit OTP code and a suspicious link that included the characters "evn". Still, the end of the domain name was different from usual. EVN affirms that this is a new scam involving fake OTP messages from bad actors to steal personal information, bank accounts, and customer data. 

Warning about fake messages from application "EVN CSKH"

EVN said that for the EVN CSKH app, which has been piloted since June 15, 2026, OTP messages are only issued during first-time login or transaction authentication within the app. At the same time, legitimate OTP messages sent to users of the EVN Customer Care application do not contain any links.

To protect personal information and ensure cybersecurity, EVN urges the public and electricity customers to remain vigilant against this new scam involving fake OTP messages. Users should note the following:

1. Never click on any suspicious links sent via text messages, emails, social media, or messaging apps from senders claiming to be EVN.

2. Do not provide OTP codes, passwords, bank account information, or personal information to any website, organization, or individual claiming to be a Power Company or EVN employee.

3. Only download and use the "EVN CSKH" customer service app from the official Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Customers need to carefully check the application name and publisher and absolutely not install applications from strange links of unknown origin.
