On January 6, a representative of Gia Lai Green Power Energy Investment Joint Stock Company—the investor of the Ia Pech and Ia Pech 2 Wind Power Plant Projects (99MW in total)—confirmed that all 30 out of 30 wind turbines of the two plants have officially been put into commercial operation.

This wind power project complex has a total investment cost of VND 3.5 trillion. Previously, on January 24, 2024, the Ia Pech 2 Wind Power Plant completed commercial operation of 15 turbines with a total capacity of 49.5MW.

As for the Ia Pech Wind Power Plant, 5 turbines (capacity of 16.5MW) had entered commercial operation in 2021; by December 30, 2025, the remaining 10 turbines (capacity of 33MW) officially commenced commercial operation, completing the full designed capacity.

The Power Trading Company (EPTC), under Vietnam Electricity (EVN), issued an official document agreeing on the commercial operation date for 10 out of 15 wind turbines starting from December 30, 2025.

The decision was made after the investor completed a comprehensive review of legal and technical aspects and committed to taking responsibility for ensuring that all items fully meet the conditions for commercial operation in accordance with the power purchase agreement.

Ia Pech and Ia Pech 2 Wind Power Plant Projects are invested by Gia Lai Green Power Energy Investment Joint Stock Company.

The Ia Pech Wind Power Plant has a capacity of 49.5MW, comprising 15 turbines (each with a capacity of 3.3MW), with a total investment cost of VND 1.499 trillion. The project is constructed in the communes of Gào, Ia Grai, and Ia Hrung (Gia Lai Province).

The Ia Pech Wind Power Plant is connected to the national power system via a double-circuit 110kV transmission line, linking from the plant’s 110kV substation to the 110kV Ia Grai – Pleiku 500kV Substation transmission line.

The full commercial operation of this wind power plant complex not only adds an important power supply source to the national power system but also contributes to promoting the green energy transition and increasing local budget revenues.

The project is in line with Gia Lai Province’s sustainable development orientation as well as Vietnam’s commitments under its roadmap for CO₂ emissions reduction and socio-economic development associated with environmental responsibility.
