Lighting Up Border in Gia Lai

On September 11, in the border communes of Ia O and Ia Dom (Gia Lai Province), Gia Lai Power Company (PC Gia Lai), in coordination with the Gia Lai Provincial Police, inaugurated two "Lighting Up the Border" projects.

A total of 200 solar-powered lights have been installed along roads in border areas, each mounted on a 6-meter-high steel pole equipped with a bracket for displaying the National Flag. The system not only meets lighting requirements but also enhances the landscape, reflecting cultural values and the spirit of devotion to the nation’s border areas. The total cost for the two works was nearly VND 400 million.

Mr. Siu Tin, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia O Commune, said that the “Lighting Up the Border” project has practical significance for residents. The project helps improve the local landscape, maintain security and public order, and create favorable conditions for people to live, project, and carry out their production activities with greater peace of mind. The project also reflects the power sector’s care and support for local authorities and residents in the border areas.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Quy, Deputy Director of PC Gia Lai, stated that the implementation of the “Lighting Up the Border” project is one of PC Gia Lai’s practical initiatives to support border areas, thereby demonstrating the company’s commitment to the community. This activity is also part of a series of meaningful events leading up to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Gia Lai Power Company.

In addition, PC Gia Lai presented 40 gift packages worth a total of VND 12 million, funded by the company’s welfare fund, to disadvantaged households in the communes of Ia O and Ia Dom. Although the gifts may be modest in material value, they provide timely support and encouragement, bringing comfort to the families and helping them overcome difficulties and move toward a more stable life.
