With more than 1.72 million tons of coal imported since the beginning of the year and unloading productivity at the port surpassing plans, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant is maintaining a safe fuel reserve level, ready to meet high-capacity generation scenarios.

During the final months of 2025, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant finalized its detailed coal supply plan for the entirety of 2026. According to the production, business, and construction investment plan, the coal import target for the whole year of 2026 is 5.32 million tons. As of May 11, 2026, the plant had completed the import of 1.72 million tons of coal, reaching 32.33% of the 2026 annual plan.

Another key factor helping Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant ensure its readiness for all dry-season power generation scenarios is its port receiving capacity. While the set target was 600,000 tons per month, the plant's port unloading productivity in April 2026 reached 726,000 tons. In addition, the plant has coordinated closely with the authorities to minimize vessel waiting times, ensuring continuous 24/7 cargo flow.

Maintaining this record-high unloading pace allows the plant's coal inventory to always remain at a safe threshold, ready for scenarios where the power system mobilizes maximum capacity during the most intense heatwaves.

The plant's technical team also maintains a strict inspection regime to ensure that unloading equipment and conveyor systems are always in optimal operating condition, preventing any incidents that could disrupt the fuel receiving chain.

Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant's methodical preparation is not only an individual effort by the unit but also forms part of the overall strategy of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to supply sufficient electricity for socio-economic development.
