This is a level I, group C energy project invested by EVNNPT, managed and operated by NPTPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company No.1.

The project is implemented in the reserve land of the existing Tuong Duong 220kV substation in Tam Quang commune, Nghe An province.

The project has a scale of installing 01 220/110/22kV transformer AT2 with a capacity of 125MVA, equipment for 01 220kV feeder bay of transformer AT2 on the 220kV side; on the 110kV side, installing equipment for 01 110kV feeder bay of transformer AT2 at bay E04, 01 bypass bay at bay E05, installing 3-phase isolating switch on busbar C19 (bays E01, E08, E14, E16) and completing the diagram of 2 busbars on the 110kV side with loop busbar.

The control, protection, and measurement system, communication system, and SCADA system are invested in sync with the control, protection, and measurement system for the transformer AT2, newly installed feeders, and existing feeders to suit the new diagram, in accordance with the regulations of Vietnam Electricity, EVNNPT, and comply with current rules and regulations. Construction and fire prevention items are deployed in accordance with the scale of the project, etc.

After completion, the project will strengthen the connection to import electricity from Nam Mo hydropower plant clusters (Laos) to Vietnam according to the agreement between the two governments; relieve the capacity of medium and small hydropower plants in the Southwest of Nghe An province that are preparing for investment and construction; and improve the reliability of power supply for the load in Nghe An province.
